In Indore, the district administration has begun the process of providing land ownership rights to residents of 29 villages that were brought into the municipal corporation's jurisdiction in 2014. These residents who live on residential land without a lease, or their heirs/transferees, can now apply for a lease to secure land holding rights. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, during a recent meeting in Indore, has given instructions regarding this matter.
Currently, landowners in these 29 villages within municipal limits are facing challenges in selling their homes or getting loans for construction because of the lack of registration or lease documents. Those affected can now submit applications for land holding rights as per the circular issued by the Revenue Department on September 24, 2020. They will be granted a 30-year lease, allowing them to access loans easily and sell or transfer their property when needed.
Camps will be set up on September 29, 2024, at tehsil offices in Juni Indore, Malharganj, Rau, Bicholi Hapsi, and Kanadia to receive applications. Eligible applicants will be given leases under land holding rights after verification.
SDM Rau Vinod Rathore mentioned, “Online lease applications will be accepted during the camps. Applicants need to bring essential documents such as electricity and water supply bills, any official correspondence or documents related to the plot, the address registered in the 2011 census, property tax receipts issued by local authorities, and the name/address listed in the voter registry.”
